I did not invest into a camera yet, but I managed to get a first image taken anyway!  Using my phone !!

The quality of the image is not amazing, but using some software to clean the image up, I am actually very happy with the result.  Did you know that most images you see from outer space, have been heavily processed using software?  Even images from the Hubble telescope have been processed to look what we get to see.

Before

Hovering a phone camera at the exactly the right height over an eyepiece was not easy.  It took me some quite some time to get the image centered on my phone screen.  And the end result was far from satisfying.  I tried to take a few more pictures, but never got a result better looking than this one.

There are special phone adapters to make taking images with a phone easier, but as I want to use a DSLR camera instead in a couple of months, I will not give these a try.

This image was just a try to getting a first image on this blog.

he end result is actually a decent image.  not a bad start huh?  I cannot wait to start taking images in a few months with a proper camera !
